Simba SC have announced the former Real Madrid assistant coach Pablo Franco Martin as their new head coach.

The 41-year-old Spaniard replaces Didier Gomes, who was fired after the Tanzania champions surprising elimination from the 2021/22 Caf Champions League at the group stage playoffs.

Botswana’s Boys Jwaneng Galaxy defeated Simba 3-1 in Tanzania to qualify on away goal rule after a 3-3 aggregate score line.

The club didn’t go into details of the length of his contract with their brief social media statement.
The Uefa Pro License holder will now be tasked to retain the Tanzania Premier League title and challenge for the 2021/2022 Caf Confederation Cup.

Pablo Franco had previously managed LaLiga side Getafe in 2015 and last coached Qadsia SC in Kuwait.
